Nera could feel it too, flashes of some hidden power, as if the whole room was a highway for magic. She started off for the centre of the room and staircase, but soon realised that it was going to take longer than she'd first thought. "It didn't look this big from the outside," she murmured and the walls bounced her voice back at her outside, outside, outside.
Hay Lin tip-toed after Nera. It was much bigger then it looked. "And there are other rooms, too." Woh... "Hey, think about it...we might be the first people to be in here for about 100 years..."
(short post. Oh yeah, I just remembered a power Hay Lin has. She telepathic as well as having the power over air. Just remember that cause she might accidently hear one of your charries thoughts. Irma knows shes telepathic, though)
"Yeah," Nera murmered, quickening her pace as she neared the centre. It freaked her out about a bit to know they were probably the first people in here for over a hundered years, what if they found bodies or it was boobie trapped? She didn't like to think of the nasty magical tricks that could be rigged up all around them. She glanced at the ceiling just in case, but there wasn't anything there. This was a relief to her for about five seconds when she realised that magical traps didn't have to have any visible signs.
(I'm logged in as Natakat, I knows, cause she logged in at my house. I'll modify it later, but Hay Lin's Power isn't the hearing minds thing! That's another person in the comic (that Hay Lin comes from). She can hear things and she gets flashes from the past/memories of other people when she hears something that that person had heard)
The same thought had struck Irma. She got some magic ready, warm and comferting, in her palm for protection just in case something tried to attack them.
As Nera got closer to the centre she felt a strange mixture of apprehension and excitement grow inside her. She finally reached it and walked around the circle, examining the patterns on the floor. "Hmm.." She murmured and stepped onto it gingerly. To her horror it shifted under her weight! She saw a flash of magic in the corner of her eye and acted instinctively, closing her eyes tight and throwing her arms out, towards it. The anticipated hit didn't come, so slowly she opened her eyes to find a wall of marble that had splintered up from the floor protecting her. "Whoa..." She gasped, "Did I do that?" She walked around the marble a grin slowly growing on her face. She put her hands on the marble again and felt it flowing under her touch, making the shape that she wanted. "Wow..."

Hay Lin, who had followed Nera to the middle of the room, looked amazed. Then she smiled. "It's not as scary now. I don't know why, it just isn't." She smirked at Irma, and at Nera, and the shot straight up in the air. She hovered slightly, and looked down at Nera. "Irma already knows, but I can fly with my air powers too!" She flew in a few circles, inspecting the floor above them, then drifted back down. "I don't think there are any traps up there. I don't think any of the people who were once inside here wanted to make traps. They just sealed it so non-magical people couldn't get through."
Nera wasn't really listening to Hay Lin, she was focused on the marble. Running through her mind was all the possibilaties she could think of, and more were coming every second. The grin on her face got wider and wider as they came running, her ideas growing wilder and more fantastic with every one. Abrubtly her mind came away, switching its focus to what was happening. She shrugged, "Let's get going then," Nera said excitedly. Leaving the marble and starting up the saircase. Soon it was clear to her that the staircase was like the room below, it would take even longer to climb all the way up then top then it had to reach it.
Irma giggled as she saw Hay Lin fly up in the air. She didn't know why but to her laughing made it all better. As if it was all a joke and there was no danger. Hay Lin's right. I need to stop worrying. But she still didn't put out the fire that sat in the palm of her hand. "wow!" said Irma as she saw the staircase. She followed Nera up the stairs.
(This idea was the first that popped into my head and it was the best so im sticking with it.)
As Irma climed up the stairs she saw a really bright white light. "I don't know Nera......mabey this leads to heaven....I dont want to go there just yet...."
Hay Lin ran after Irma. It took them awhile, but they were slowly getting closer to the top. "It's not heaven, Irma. I think it's just some big source of magic...or something..." Hay Lin ran up as many stairs as possible, but the next floor didn't seem to be getting closer that quickly.
