What Irma said made Nera falter, she paused and she bit her worriedly. The thought of heaven, without the earth below to support her was one that she didn't like. "We saw it from it from the outside didn't we?" She said to reassure herself, "There wasn't a staircase that went out of the ceiling."

Not wanting to scare Nera, but wanting to make a point, Hay Lin said "But, it is magic, you know. Almost-Well, everything is possible." Hay Lin started to fly again. She wanted to check it out, but she stuck closer to her friends because she, like Nera, was slightly scared.

"I suppose....." She said weakly and hovered on the step, wondering whether to go on or not. She made her mind up and carried on up the stairs, she'd always been the curious type. "I'm going to have a look anyway," she said, her voice sounding certain while inside she was already questioning her decision.

Irma was longing to just stand there and say "It's your funeral." and just stay there quietly and see what she did.
But she thought better of it as she wanted to know what was up those stairs too. She followed Nera with a kind of half shrug at what Hay Lin had said. She kind of liked the idea that with magic you could do anything...
(hey how about you [nera] go up there and your like "ooohhhhh" and im like "what?" and theres lots of clouds up there and im like "im out!" and run down the stairs coz i thought it was heaven? just an idea. tell me if you dont like it OK.)

Nera didn't hear Irma's words, she was too busy climbing. The floor looked a little nearer now, but it would still take ages to get there. "Phew," she said and paused for a break, she'd managed to convince herself that it wasn't heaven up there so she wasn't feeling sared anymore, just curious.

(not really heaven, Irma just thinks that)
Hay Lin continued up to. This time she flew in front of her friends. "I'll check it out guys!" She got as high as she could and finally she was at the end of the stairs-and that was just when flying. She looked at up there, then down, back at her friends. "Guys, come look! Hurry up, come on!"

Irma began to run up the stairs quicker as Hay Lin had said. When she got to the top she saw all the clouds. "Nope. I'm out. I don't really wanna go to heaven yet." and she quickly began to climb down again

Nera hadn't reached the top yet, so as Irma was coming down she barred her way. "Come on, we've got all go in together! We're friends right?" She didn't want to go onto heaven without Irma, they were exploring this temple with each other and it didn't feel right just to leave one behind.

Irma took a deep breath.
"Okay then but I'm doing this for you guys so if you back out like I just did then thats really unfair..."
Irma got some magic in her hand ready for an attack
But I guess if it was heaven then my magic won't be able to hurt them...oh well....no way I'm getting rid of it though!

Nera nodded, now they were so close to the next level she was feeling less and less secure about leaving the earth behind. "Ok, that's fair," she said to Irma smiling nervously. She took a small stone from her pocket and held it tight in her palm to reasure her. Everything'll be ok, her thoughts told her, but she wasn't sure she believed them.

Hay Lin gestured for the guys to follow. "Come on!" She walked onto the next level, and she started to walk through the clouds. They were cold. Most definately real clouds, too. She stopped and used her air powers to push some of the clouds out of the way. "Guys...I don't think this is heaven. It's just a room...full of clouds." She said matter-of-factly.

Nera felt better when Hay Lin said that, she was an air elemental so she should know best if it was heaven or not. "Well let's see then," she said putting on a brve face and climbing up the rest of the steps.

Irma began to hum herself a little tune to keep content and to fill the space in her head.
When she was trying to remember the tune, there was hardly any room left in her head for being scared.

Nera stepped onto the last step and took a deep breath, gripping the stone tight in her hand. "Here goes," She whisepered to herself and went up to the next level. At first all she could see was white and it took a long time for her eyes to get used to the brightness.

(Nothing, really. Oooh...actually...because Hay Lin is an elemental of air, the clouds [which are protecting something, maybe, and they're magical of course] kinda attack Nera and Irma, but Hay Lin stops them. Or something like that. The clouds don't mind Hay Lin because she's an air elemental)
Hay Lin looked over at Irma and Nera. "Come on!" She said again. "They won't hurt you. They're just clouds." Clouds that are here for a reason. She thought. Why, though?
